List randomizer

Shuffle a List

Randomly reorders lines — for giveaways, randomized sampling, shuffling quiz questions, or dealing cards. Uses the browser's cryptographically secure random generator, so the shuffle is genuinely unbiased.

Fairness Note

True randomness includes streaks and repeats of position — that is normal, not broken. For prize draws, screenshot or save the result as your audit trail.

How to Use the List Randomizer

The List Randomizer shuffles the lines of your list into a random order using a Fisher-Yates style shuffle, so every item has an equal chance of landing anywhere. It is ideal for raffles, random name pickers, secret-Santa draws, and classroom groups.

1. Paste your list with one entry per line — names, numbers, or anything else.
2. Click shuffle to randomize the line order instantly.
3. Take the top entry as your winner, or copy the whole shuffled list for group assignments.

Example

Picking a raffle winner from five entrants. Before: Ava
Ben
Cara
Dan
Eli After one shuffle: Dan
Eli
Ava
Cara
Ben — Dan lands on top. Shuffle again for a fresh, equally fair result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the shuffle truly random?
It uses a Fisher-Yates style shuffle driven by the browser random number generator, giving every line an equal chance at every position — fair for casual draws and games.

Can I use this for a real lottery or legal drawing?
No — this is a casual tool, not a certified random drawing system. Regulated drawings need audited, witnessed procedures.

Does shuffling change or delete my items?
Never. Only the order changes; every line and its exact text stay intact, including duplicates.
