Reverse List Order in Depth

Flips line-by-line lists so the last line becomes first — newlines are the delimiter, blank lines preserved as-is. The one-click fix for data that arrived backwards.

Common Scenarios

Log files (oldest-first to newest-first), countdowns written top-down, leaderboards that need flipping, and CSV rows that must be reversed without touching a spreadsheet. For numbered lists, note the numbers stay with their lines — renumber afterward if sequence matters.

Pair With

Reverse then alphabetize for a Z–A sort; reverse then dedupe when the last occurrence should win instead of the first.

How to Use the Reverse List Tool

Reverse List flips the order of lines in a list — the last line becomes the first and the first becomes the last — without changing anything inside each line. It is different from Reverse Words and Reverse Letters, which work on words and letters rather than whole lines.

  1. Paste the list you want flipped — one item per line — keeping every line intact.
  2. Click reverse — the line order flips instantly from bottom to top.
  3. Copy the reversed list and paste it wherever you need it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it change the text inside each line?
Never. Lines move as whole units — spelling, numbers, and punctuation inside each line stay exactly the same.

What happens to blank lines?
Blank lines are treated like any other line and move with the reversal, so your spacing pattern flips too. Remove empty lines first if you want them gone.

Can I reverse a numbered list?
Yes — the numbers travel with their lines, which is exactly how a countdown becomes a count-up, as the example shows.
